Celebrating ten years of building beautiful homes for Calgarians, the Astoria Group decided to give back to the community.
On September 19, 2011, the first annual Astoria Group Charity Classic was held and it was as successful as their first ten years in business.
144 golfers enjoyed a beautiful day at Heritage Pointe Golf Club and learned more about brain injury. Together through donations and participating in the auction, a cheque for $90,000 was presented to the Association for the Rehabilitation of the Brain Injured.

Everyone knows someone who has been affected by a traumatic brain injury; whether from a stroke, motor vehicle accident or fall just to name a few of the causes. A few of the statistics of brain injuries include:
- Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause – accounting for at least 50 per cent of all traumatic brain injuries
- Two-third who sustain a traumatic brain injury are under 30
- Young men aged 15 to 24 are most at risk for traumatic brain injury
- Forty to fifty thousand Canadians suffer a stroke annually
